COMPANY BACKGROUND
SCI is a family owned business located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. SCI was
founded in 1980 by David Shackelford and specialized in general contracting. SCI
has a reputation for producing quality work in a timely manner and is highly respected
and well established in the construction industry in South Mississippi.
CONSTRUCTION IS THE NATURE OF OUR BUSINESS
SCI builds various types of construction projects throughout the Mississippi Gulf
Coast region. Road, highway, bridge construction and infrastructure systems were
the primary foundation of the business.
In August of 2003, SCI, Inc. opened its first new division, GeoPave. GeoPave
specializes in soil stabilization and asphalt paving. This allows SCI to provide a total
package of civil construction capabilities from within the company.
On January 1, 2005, Shackelford & Co. Designs was open for business as SCI’s
second division. SD is an interior design firm that provides innovative and creative
solutions to personal interior spaces. The beginning of SD is paving the way for SCI’s
next move into the building construction field.

SCI is a contractor with significant experience in road and highway projects, storm
drainage projects, sewer collections systems and water distribution systems. With
the addition of the GeoPave Division in 2003, we broadened our services to include
soil stabilization and asphalt paving.
We work for state and local government agencies as well as the private developer.
There is no job that is too small to be overlooked or too large to handle. Character
and integrity are the standards SCI was built on and continues to operate by.
